All day today (1st December) from the town square and all the way along Fore Street, the Christmas shopping seasons starts in style at Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas. From 9am until 4.30pm, it will be a festive day of hog roasts, carol singers and stalls of locally produced gifts.
Is it really Christmas before the lights are switched on in Salcombe? The seasonal ceremony is definitely one of the highlights in the calendar. On 4th December they will be turned on in ceremonial style, and before you get there, don’t forget to pop into the Cliff house Christmas Fair as well!
Join the charity bingo at Salcombe Rugby Club at 4pm on 18th December, or head to nearby Kingsbridge on 10th December to enjoy the Make Me Merry Christmas concert by the Stanborough Chorus in Thurlestone Parish Hall at 7.30pm.
Food has got to be a central feature of this chilly time of year, and the Kingsbridge Farmers Markets are a tantalising start complete with home grown veg, freshly baked bread and pastries and locally landed fish and crab.
Head to Whitestrand on 20th December for Christmas carols around the tree. Join The Rotary Club for a little community Christmas spirit!
Of course, nothing beats a day on the beach or strolling along the cliff tops. As any avid beach fan will tell you, sandcastle building is definitely not just a summer activity. Woolley hats and scarves at the ready, and don’t forget to pop in to see us at The Winking Prawn or Island Street Bar and Grill afterwards for hot chocolate with plenty of marshmallows and cream!
